Heart Disease Project

Heart disease is the leading cause of death in both women and men. All four counties served by the Texoma Health Foundation (THF) carry heart disease rates significantly higher than their respective state and national rates. This is a serious statistic for our communities.

Each year THF joins TX Presbyterian Health WNJ and TMC to raise awareness of the importance of prevention and early detection for cardiovascular disease.

WNJ’s Heart Chase is a unique geocaching scavenger hunt that benefits the American Heart Association. The provides a great opportunity for fun, exercise and education on heart disease.

THF also actively participates in Art for the Heart, an annual art auction where money raised is  designated to the American Heart Association and other local heart education projects.

These partnerships significantly enhances THF’s wants to significantly wants to improve the cardiovascular health of Texoma.
